Run Communications partners with The NEDwork, a new network for sports Non-Executive Directors

12 Nov 2025

Run Communications is delighted to announce an exciting collaboration with The NEDwork Conference ’25 as one of its inaugural partners.

The NEDwork, a new network for Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) of national sport governing bodies and sporting organisations, has today (Wednesday, November 12th) been launched by executive search and leadership development firm, Kinsey Sears.

Alongside fellow partners Think Beyond and Onside Law, Run Communications were specifically selected as industry experts to support content and discussions.

Steve Chisholm, Founder of Run Communications, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with The NEDwork Conference ’25. The NEDwork provides a unique opportunity for Non-Executive Directors to come together, share insight, and build stronger, more resilient organisations as sports continue to evolve.

“Collaboration and shared insight are at the heart of progress, and this initiative brings together the best minds to drive positive change.”

Kicking off with a conference at The Kia Oval, the first NEDwork event was a private event for Olympic and Paralympic Non-Executive Directors, with representatives from 35 sports in attendance. It was co-designed by Ed Warner, Chair of GB Wheelchair Rugby, and several National Governing Body Chairs.

At the launch, Ed Warner said: “I am a firm believer that GB’s Olympic and Paralympic sports are stronger when they work together to share ideas and inspiration. The NEDwork is born of the ambition to build a collaborative community across Britain’s sporting boardrooms. Our launch event at the KIA Oval is just the start!”

Many of the industry’s leading names were in attendance for a day of panel discussions and NEDworking. Among the 24 panellists involved were Annamarie Phelps: Vice Chair of the British Olympic Association, Dan Brooke: Chair of Paralympics GB, Nick Webborn: Chair of UK Sport, Gill Whitehead: Chair of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, Jon Dutton: Chief Executive of British Cycling, Tom Harrison: Chief Executive of 6Nations, Rupinder Ashworth: Chair of British Weight Lifting and Hugh Brasher, Chief Executive of London Marathon Events.

Building a community of sports NEDs, The NEDwork brings together Non-Executive Directors from across the sporting landscape — creating a space for connection, collaboration, and continuous learning.

The NEDwork offers a series of events to network and collaborate, a platform to share experiences, and a range of benefits and programmes to support and upskill NEDs in their contribution to high-performing boards across National Governing Bodies and the sporting landscape.

Tom Sears, Founder of Kinsey Sears, added: “We are delighted to launch the NEDwork which is specifically designed to support current and aspiring Chairs and Board directors leading our sports organisations.

“By providing the opportunity to network, collaborate and learn together, and from each other, we will be supporting individuals and organisations to lead more effectively.”

Whilst today’s event at The Kia Oval focused on Olympic and Paralympic sports, there will be wider opportunities for Non-Executive Directors, who lead a range of sport organisations, bodies and trusts, to be involved in the future.
