You’ll be working on some of the biggest events in sport including the Olympic & Paralympic Games as well as across a great rosta of high profile clients. Our client partners include The National Lottery, Red Roses, Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, parkrun, MCC & Lord’s Cricket Ground, PlayHQ, UK Coaching and Swim England.
The Role
This is a key senior role within Run, responsible for leading the delivery of exceptional client work and managing a portfolio of high-profile accounts.
You will lead from the front on client delivery - ensuring campaigns are executed to a high standard, teams are well supported, and clients receive clear, strategic guidance.
This role requires a strong agency operator with excellent client instincts - someone who can manage complexity, build trusted relationships, and ensure work is delivered effectively and consistently.
You will play an important role in contributing to the growth of the business — supporting new business opportunities, identifying areas for account growth and helping to strengthen long-term client partnerships.
You’ll bring a blend of brand, government sector and and sport experience, with a passion for purpose-led work and the role sport can play in driving societal impact.
You will help deliver work that reinforces Run’s strong reputation within sport, impact and culture — creating campaigns that increase visibility, drive participation and deliver meaningful results.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Excellence & Creative Impact
- Drive the development of bold, culturally relevant campaigns that cut through and generate earned media impact
- Lead the creation of standout moments across broadcast, print, digital and social
- Work closely with content team to deliver integrated campaigns that resonate with audiences
- Ensure strong media relations maintained across national, regional and specialist outlets
Leadership & Client Delivery
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day delivery of our team and client work, alongside our women’s sport lead, ensuring consistently high standards across all accounts
- Act as senior client lead, building trusted relationships and providing strategic counsel to clients
- Oversee integrated PR & social campaign delivery - ensuring work is insight-led, creative, and delivers against clear objectives and KPIs
- Maintain rigorous standards across planning, execution, reporting and evaluation
- Ensure teams are set up for success with clear direction, strong processes and effective resource management
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and creativity
- Provide clear direction, support and development opportunities for team members
- Act as a senior figure within the wider agency, contributing to culture and standards
Operational Excellence
- Oversee project timelines, budgets and resourcing to ensure efficient and profitable delivery
- Manage external partners and suppliers to deliver best-in-class output
- Ensure strong reporting, measurement and continuous optimisation across campaigns
New Business & Growth
- Play a leading role in driving agency growth, with responsibility for generating new business opportunities and delivering against financial targets
- Proactively identify and develop relationships with prospective clients
- Lead and contribute to pitch processes - from proposition development through to delivery
- Grow existing accounts through strategic upselling and identifying new opportunities
- Contribute to the overall commercial success of Run, supporting revenue and profitability targets
Experience:
- 6+ years’ experience in PR / communications / sport or brand/government sector, with significant time in a senior agency role
- Proven track record in winning new business and growing client accounts
- Experience working with major brands and/or within the sports industry
- Strong understanding of integrated communications, including media, digital and social
- Demonstrable experience delivering high-impact campaigns that drive engagement and results
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and providing strategic counsel
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget management and profitability
- Experience leading and developing teams
