Senior Account Manager / Account Manager: The Role

The focus of this role will be to develop and implement creative communications strategies for some of our key clients, leading campaigns which drive action and deliver measurable results. 

Campaigns will be consumer focused, aiming to increase participation in sport, develop brand engagement and/or drive footfall for major sports events.

The Account Manager will also work closely with Run’s Senior Leadership Team to identify and secure new business
opportunities.

Day to day will include:

  • Planning and delivery across some of our most prestigious client accounts, working closely with the wider account team to deliver integrated, earned-first campaigns.
  • Building, leading and developing strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Working with key clients to plan measurable, insight-led campaigns that exceed KPIs and drive meaningful action.
  • Working with major media brands to deliver high-quality, creative PR activity across broadcast, online and print at both national and local level.
  • Creating and delivering made-for-media moments, events and activations designed to generate standout coverage and cultural cut-through.
  • Collaborating closely with our digital team to deliver integrated digital and social-led campaign ideas, ensuring PR activity translates effectively across platforms.
  • Supporting influencer and creator activity where relevant, working with specialist teams to ensure alignment with PR narratives and campaign objectives.
  • Managing third-party design, film and photography freelancers/agencies to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Producing high-quality written content across multiple platforms, including press materials, social copy, briefing documents and thought leadership.
  • Using insight, reporting and evaluation to demonstrate campaign impact and inform future activity.
  • Working with Run’s Senior Leadership Team to proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to pitch development and presentations.
  • Ensuring all work is culturally relevant, timely and aligned with how audiences consume media and content today.
  • Supporting the agency’s in-house marketing and profile-building activity.
  • Project and budget management across accounts, ensuring work is delivered on time and within scope.
  • Team leadership and performance management, supporting junior team members’ development and progression.

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years Consumer PR / Communications / Sports Industry and/or big brand experience
  • Experience delivering high impact campaigns which have resulted in a measurable outcome (e.g. driven event ticket sales / fan engagement / increased participation)
  • A solid network of media contacts across a cross-section of media (sport, lifestyle, entertainment) and broadcast, print and digital platforms
  • Experience managing clients or multiple accounts
  • Experience writing pitch documents and pitching to potential clients
  • Digital communications experience, including a strong knowledge of a range of social and digital channels
  • Excellent project and budget management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Account leadership
  • Understanding of strategic communications planning, measurement and evaluation
  • Understanding of the role of sponsorship within the integrated marketing planning process

The Package

  • Salary: £28,000 - £37,000 depending on experience
