Steve is a strategic communications professional with over 25 years’ experience working for major clients and media organisations. He is one of the best-connected individuals working in sport and the media today. Steve leads Run Communications, an agency of talented practitioners that seeks to present innovative and collaborative solutions to brands, sport and the media. After a 10 year broadcasting career with the BBC, Steve spent the next decade helping to build one of the major sports marketing businesses in the UK. Steve launched Run in September 2012.

Sara has 15 years’ experience planning and implementing high profile integrated marketing, sponsorship and public relations campaigns in the sport and consumer sectors. With both brand and agency experience — EDF Energy, Fast Track & the London 2012 Olympic Bid — Sara enjoys planning and executing innovative and differentiated projects that deliver real results.
Senior Account Manager
Sophie is a passionate and creative sports marketing professional. Having previously worked with mass participation events, she has experience selling out stadia and creating new sporting audiences using an integrated marketing strategy.
Skilled in the use of social media to drive engagement, she also excels at content creation and is a trained videographer and editor. Having worked both brand and agency side, she can understand a brief and execute a strategic plan to deliver strong results.
Mark is Run’s digital consultant and one of the leading specialists in his field. He joined The Football Association in 2012 and built the Content team, launching Instagram and Snapchat for the organisation. He transformed video production and output; increasing yearly views from 18million to over 250million.
Mark oversaw digital content for high profile events including The FA's 150th anniversary, World Cup 2014, Women's World Cup 2015 and Euro 2016. In 2017 he led the R&A’s Content team at The Open and introduced influencer marketing to the organisation. He moved to Virgin to help launch the company's sportsbook, overseeing content and brand and acting as day-to-day liaison for Virgin's management team. He then joined Laureus and led the team that delivered the charity's best-ever set of digital results for its 20th anniversary global sports awards.
Social Media Manager
A digital comms expert, Mark has worked for a number of huge brands across the sporting landscape and is leading the social media output at Run.
With an in-depth knowledge of social - and creative content skills across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Linked In, Mark has a fantastic ability to create the right ideas to connect directly with audiences.
Following a great grounding at Sport Magazine, Mark moved to Wentworth Golf Club and Richmond in rugby to lead their social. He is highly skilled at finding unique ways to share different narratives across the digital world.
Lisa Harper is a dynamic and creative media professional, with 20 years’ experience in journalism and sports PR. She has successfully led major media campaigns for high profile brands such as BT, P&G, British Gas, Heineken, Visa, and Spar. Lisa specialises in delivering outstanding media coverage, high-quality digital content and top-class media events. She has worked at many global sporting events, including: the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, London 2012 Olympic Games, European Swimming Championships, World Athletics Championships, French Open Tennis, Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Senior Account Manager
Joel has 15 years’ agency and in-house experience in sports marketing and public affairs. He has specific expertise in national and regional media relations and political and stakeholder engagement and has a particular interest in community sport and the sport for development sector.
He has worked for clients including Brighton & Hove Albion FC, The Belfry, Leyton Orient Trust and London United – a collaborative partnership of the community trusts of London’s 15 professional football clubs.
With more than three years industry experience, Ben has worked in a variety of different environments to create bespoke content for digital platforms. Despite specialising in videography and video editing, he also has experience in writing for print and web, as well as social media management.
Breaking into the industry at Southampton Football Club, Ben worked with top level talent and industry-leading organisations like The Premier League, before moving onto Sussex Police where he was part of a team looking after a digital audience of over 300,000.
